Responsibilities

The position we are looking for is a strategic role focused on source to contract for Direct materials, leveraging spend across plant locations in the EMEA Region ang globally  where applicable. The person will cover the role will be responsible for driving value through the implementation of procurement strategies which optimize supplier relationships, reduce total costs, and ensure consistent supply of quality goods and services while mitigating risk. 

 

Primary responsabilities:

  • Execute sourcing strategies for spend categories in scope of responsibility aligned with the requirements of stakeholders and business partners.
  • Support Global category lead in the creation and delivery of effective regional budgets (Plans of Purchase).
  • Deliver benefits identified in strategies through effective and collaborative strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), quality, service, cost and innovation.
  • Will be operating on a regional basis, therefore needs to demonstrate a real understanding of the market regionally so the manager needs to be able to identify new opportunities and innovation and ensure that these are exploited.
  • Must fit in company’s goals and ensure that procurement drives fulfilment of these aims.
  • Following global sourcing decisions for Geosynthetics and Plastics existing and new products.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality, Sales and Engineering teams on supplier issues to ensure early supplier involvement in new designs and a supply base that support Maccaferri ’s Geosynthetics and Plastics technology roadmap.
  • Lead the identification and on-boarding of new high-performance suppliers.
  • Drive the negotiation of supplier contracts and pricing.
  • Align with global category teams and work in collaboration with these teams to provide local business requirements and market information to support effective collaborative regional and global strategy creation and execution.
  • Ownership of tail management within the in-scope region and challenge it appropriately to ensure no category spend is left outside category scope.
  • Challenge requirements and educate stakeholder to drive maximum contract and compliance.
  • Build strategic relationship with a network of senior Maccaferri’s local/regional/global stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement’s value proposition.
  • Influence key stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development endorse recommend strategies, support execution and agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a supplier management.
  • Depth understanding of the market, supplier sourcing and risk performance management.
  • Extremely good knowledge of procurement strategy development and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement tools and data, content and automation.
  • Strong ability to analyse specifications and influence demand.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Extensive capability to independently interact throughout Maccaferri.
  • Action oriented and solution minded team player.
  • Strategic sourcing and a combination of regional experience and education within geosynthetics and plastics categories.
  • The ability to demonstrate a passion for purchasing role and motivation to develop themselves and team.
  • Ability to be innovative in issues related to strategic sourcing, vendor relations, quality assurance and the associated measurement systems.
  • Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modelling, break down quotation analysis, supplier selection).
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to assume leadership role with cross-functional peers.
  • Preferred degree in Engineering and/or Business.
  • Fluent in English.
